Pemanfaatan Botol Plastik Sebagai Alat Peraga Dalam Pembelajaran Biologi Model Discovery Learning Di Kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Remboken

Abstract

ABSTRACT

               The use of media in the biology learning process is generally dominated by media images and print media so that students find it difficult to understand abstract material such as the circulatory system in humans. This study aims to determine whether the use of plastic bottles as props in biology learning discovery learning models can improve student learning outcomes in circulatory system material. This research was conducted in the odd semester of the academic year 2018/2019 in the XI class of SMA 1 Remboken State High School. This type of research is experimental research. The sample consisted of the XI IPA 1 class as the control class and XI IPA 2 as the experimental class. Data collection techniques use test results with the test instrument in the form of essay questions. The results showed that the average learning outcomes of the control class were 73.53 while the average learning outcomes of the experimental class = 84.07. From these results, it can be concluded that the use of plastic bottles as props in biology learning discovery learning models can improve student learning outcomes.

            Penggunaan media dalam proses pembelajaran biologi pada umumnya didominasi oleh media gambar dan media cetak sehingga siswa sulit memahami materi yang bersifat abstrak seperti sistem peredaran darah pada manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah pemanfaatan botol plastik sebagai alat peraga dalam pembelajaran biologi model discovery learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem peredaran darah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2018/2019 di kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Remboken. Jenis penelitian yaitu penelitian eksperimen. Sampel terdiri dari kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes hasil belajar dengan instrumen tes berupa soal essay. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata hasil  belajar kelas kontrol yaitu 73,53 sedangkan rata-rata hasil  belajar kelas eksperimen = 84,07. Dari hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemanfaatan botol plastik sebagai alat peraga dalam pembelajaran biologi model discovery learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.
